Inuzuka Kumade was born to parents from separate villages. Many years ago his parents met each other during a joint Suna and Konoha effort. The two villages had formed a small temporary regiment made up of shinobi from each village. The group of shinobi had trouble trusting each other during the entire operation, including Kumade’s parents. But it was during this mission that Kumade’s father Inuzuka Iwate and his famous ninken Nakatori saved the life of a sand village Kunoichi by the name of Omoto. The mission’s objective had failed, but thanks to Iwate, the regiments only medical shinobi, Umoto, had survived. Both villages considered the joint effort a general failure and have never since joined together on any such endeavor since. While the mission was a failure, Kumade’s parents had fallen deeply in love with one another, leading to Umoto’s pregnancy. It was during this pregnancy that the two of them decided that they could never truly be together, that they would have to let each other go, and that they were both required more loyalty to their villages then to each other. It was decided that their child would grow up with his mother in Sunagakure, and when he was of age to go to the academy, that both parents would consult their village leaders on what to do with the child.
Relations with Suna and Konoha have maintained stability over the years. Enough so that Iwate was able to visit his son Kumade in Sunagakure a handful of times. One of the years Iwate came to Sunagakure he brought Kumade something special, He brought the young Inuzuka a ninken pup from their most recent litter. A small grey blob of fur, eyes still closed shut. Iwate told his son to take care of the pup like it was a brother or sister, that no one in the world would he be able to trust as much as this puppy. Kumade took those words to heart more than anything he ever had. Kumade spent the next remaining years of his childhood training his ninken, Kimaru. She was a domesticated wolf breed, with eyes as green as emeralds, and black streaks throughout her fur.
Kumade’s childhood in Sunagakure was rougher than most, while there was “peace” between Suna and Konoha, children didn’t need a very large reason to be cruel to one another. Kumade was beaten and bullied regularly for his heritage, for the face tattoos his father gave him, for how he cared for his ninken Kimaru. But no matter how hard they hit him, no matter how many cracked ribs or fractured bones they gave him, he would never let them hurt his ninken Kimaru. Kumade spent a large portion of his free time growing up wandering the dunes and edge of the forests near the land of fire and wind border. He had many “camps” across the desert and forest edge where he would spend hours night or day with just him and Kimaru. Over the years he made hundreds of maps of the night sky above the land of wind. Mapping the heavens and using them to always find his way back to the village.
As Kumade grew older his mother grew frailer, He spent less and less time abroad and more time taking care of her until sadly she died when he was 11. Something inside the boy broke, and he didn’t speak to anyone for years. After a year of silence, the people of the village hidden in the sand no longer wanted to take care of the boy, his mother had no more living family in the village after the passing of his grandmother. So Kumade was sent to live with his father permanently in Konohagakure, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. It was here the boy spoke again, to his father, and to his cousins and grandparents and all the other members of clan Inuzuka, for they understood his bond with Kimaru. He told none of them how he was treated in Sunagakure, but he told them what he wanted. To train Kimaru to be the greatest Shinobi there was.
He graduated the academy in a few years before being assigned his squad, He had some hiccups with one of the students from the academy who gave him the most trouble, a girl by the name of Harusame, who often taunted him with the nickname “Dogboy”. But otherwise, he accepted his role on the squad, and he thought he could have done worse when it came to senseis. Hasu Ken was a fantastic and mysterious warrior, who Kumade thought he had much to learn from. It has been a year of missions with his squad, they had hunt down every lost kitty cat, cleaned up every garage, tilled every field mission they were given. Kumade had even discovered that his chakra affinity was Raiton. They had managed a few shinobi message delivery to boot. When it came time for the Chunnin exams, the squad was excited to prove themselves. But their master Ken denied their request, claiming them “not ready for an event such as the chunnin exams”. The tension in the squad had been at it’s highest after that, but it seems a new mission has come up, something far bigger than Kumade and his squad might be ready for.
- Solitary – Kumade spends the majority of his time alone with only his ninken, preferring the company of dogs than to other people.
- Decisive – For someone seemingly not paying attention, Kumade has great decision-making skills and often runs through scenarios and comes to conclusions instantly.
- Aloof – Kumade seems to never be all there when talking to other people, slow to respond(if he responds at all) He is a quiet boy by nature and often doesn’t feel the need to respond to most things.
- Insensitive – Kumade puts no value in how one feels, including himself. A by-product of this is, despite his attention to detail, he often overlooks the feelings of those around him.

Weight: 30 lbs
Appearance: Kumade is a small Grey ninken with bright green eyes and thin black streaks on her fur. A wolf-like demeanor gives away to a somewhat domesticated breed
History: Kimaru was born to a litter of pups in the Inuzuka clan, her brothers and sisters much larger than herself. The earliest thing she can remember is being passed from one pair of hands to a much smaller pair of hands. The first thing she remembers seeing was a human face, eyes filled with tears. This face would become known to her as her master, her best friend, other humans called the boy “Kumade”. He would bring her food, they would play together, sleep together, eventually go on walks around the hot mounds of dirt surrounding their home together. Her master even protected her from the bad humans that were around them. Kimaru h Her and her master eventually left their home, moving from the hot sun and dry dirt to a place that amazed Kimaru, Green as far as she could see, smells heavier and stronger than those of their home.
- Friendly – Kimaru likes people, and is a great judge of character. Often showing affection to most people she meets, but the ones she doesn’t like are people to keep a close eye on
- Attentive – Kimaru pays more attention than one would think a dog would, often listening to conversations despite seemingly not paying attention, she is very empathic to how others (especially Kumade) actually feel.
- Distracted – Despite her ability to pay attention, Kimaru is still a ninken pup, and will often be distracted by things like food, small creatures, and new sights and smells.
Character Preferences: Loves going on “walks”, taking naps, and eating food with her owner. Her favorite food is fried dumplings. Her favorite toy is a chewed up stuffed rabbit that her owner made for her.
