In an instant, Rin's eye darted to the side just quick enough to see her opponent step into an attack! Putting her reflexes to the test, she pushed back off of the ground to move in the direction of the blow as the man's foot collided with the woman, her body flying backwards before tumbling end over end until she finally came to a stop a good meter away from the treeline, now standing directly in the rain. Her arms still crossed over the point of impact as she breathed a quick huff of relief, still staring at the attacker as she fought off a quickly forming smile.
While she had managed to avoid the worst of the attack, Shouri was still a Jonin from what she heard by asking around. It was probably fair to assume he was way stronger than she was, but that didn't matter, it just meant that she had to take him seriously. And it was raining, as well, which meant her poison wouldn't work, either, since the rain would just rinse it off of her weapons. But that wasn't an issue, all it meant was that if she did need it then he wouldn't expect it to come at him. While she wasn't injured yet, the situation definitely wasn't in her favor. But that was fine! This wasn't a battle that Rin ever expected to win, now that things were in motion her objective was clear to her!
Rin never intended to kill Shouri. And now that their encounter had started, she still didn't intend to kill him. All she intended to do, now, was to draw out his emotions and force him to confront them. Hopefully then he'd be able to truly accept his past. As futile as it might be, Rin had to fight this losing battle with everything she had, because by giving her all to defeat Shouri she would at least be able to attempt to fix her mistakes! It was a path that would never make sense to normal people, but, as ninja, if they at least fought with their bare emotions on the line, then surely their fists would ultimately understand eachother and, in doing so, they would both be able to truly understand their own feelings, too!
A quick cackle escaped her as Rin put her hands together and drew six senbon, three with each hand, and ran off to the Shouri's right side! "Shall you show me what you can do?!" She exclaimed as the kunoichi threw all six needles, three at a time, at her target's torso before speeding up slightly to break her line of sight with him by moving behind one of the trees of the forest, almost daring him to leave the cover to come fight him in the rain directly as she continued on her path.
