Suna no Aoi Tora (lit. Blue Tiger of the Sand), Shin-kun, Sensei, Part-time Jashinist
Katon (Granted by Matatabi)
Theme Song: Just Another Hero
Shingen is a lithe, slightly-tan-skinned youth. His hair is naturally black in color, but it is frequently dyed blonde. He stands at slightly-above-average height for his age, and has blue eyes. He has a toned build, honed from years of physical training, though it is lithe rather than overly muscular, due to focusing on speed and agility rather than brute strength. His regular outfit consists of a white shirt with a black jacket and black pants, as well as socks worn with ninja sandals that are sometimes replaced by close-toed shoes. On his chest there is a large X-shaped scar, caused from previously sustained deep cuts.
Shingen is a relatively optimistic individual. He tends to look on the bright side in most situations, and rolls with the punches when they come. He enjoys training and is relatively dedicated, his nindo being "be the best you that you can be." His personality could be described as eccentric or goofy, as he is prone to flights of fancy and unorthodox training methods and hobbies, which can often be considered extreme. Two of his preferred hobbies are street luge on the Glass Plateau and sandboarding. Despite this lighthearted and dedicated personality, Shingen, who considers himself like a tiger, can be fierce when cornered, and protective of his friends.
Despite his usually carefree and childish nature, or perhaps because if it, combined with past experiences, Shingen has developed a fear of death, which has prompted him to double-down on his medical training in an effort to find a form of immortality that can free him from the fear of death. Partially to this end, he joined the Cult of Jashin, intrigued by the concept of acquiring immortality. Despite his reverence of Jashin in his quest for immortality, he is unable to fully commit to the cult's creed, as he refuses to murder innocents.
Story Thus Far:
Shingen was born into the small branch of the Origami family that migrated from Amegakure to Sunagakure after Amegakure's war with Otogakure. Born into a traditional shinobi clan, Shingen had his path decided for him early in life, and he was trained in the ways of shinobi even before he was sent to the Academy. He showed proficiency with his clan's techniques, and also showed proficiency with the basic shinobi skills taught at the Academy. With an otherwise normal early childhood, Shingen's talents allowed him to pass the Academy graduation test at the age of eight.
His talent at ninjutsu despite his young age made Shingen a prime candidate for the village's selection process for the Nibi's jinchuuriki. The Kazekage's son, Kyousuke, began selecting dozens of of prospective children to undergo the process of receiving the Suspended Seven Lights of the Lion's Roar, a temperamental seal that would only set properly on an individual with exactly the right type of chakra. Shingen's life was forever changed when, after everything was said and done, he was the only child out of forty-three to which the seal properly bonded. Before his ninth birthday, Shingen was made the jinchuuriki of Matatabi.
As a result of this, his life was forever changed. He did not receive the traditional training of a genin, he had no squad upon which he was placed along with two other genin and a jounin instructor. Instead, his training was done in two parts. His physical training was handled by Sunba Satoru, the Kazekage's brother-in-law. Shingen's field training, including missions, were handled by Kyousuke personally. In this sense, Kyousuke is the person most like a sensei to Shingen. Outside of training and missions, Shingen was under constant supervision by ANBU, to ensure that Matatabi never escaped. It is because Shingen was only ever "unsupervised" during his training that he developed such a strong passion for it.
Training under the strict regimen of Satoru, Shingen's speed greatly increased, and he began to wear training weights to further hone his abilities. As Fire Release began to develop in Shingen because of Matatabi, Kyousuke taught him Fire Release. Undertaking progressively more difficult missions with Kyousuke, Shingen eventually became a chuunin at the age of twelve.
Much of Shingen's time as a chuunin was spent refining his speed, which he began to hone to levels rivaling that of his mentor, Satoru. As a chuunin, he was eventually tasked with being a part of a covert mission, led by his sensei, Kyousuke. He was to accompany Kyousuke to Kumogakure, to engage in cover tmissions against the Cloud Village. During this mission, custody of Shingen was given over to the Hidden Leaf, and he served as a hostage and sign of good-will between the villages, as they worked together on covert missions against Kumogakure. During this time, Shingen trained under Uchiha Rei, and became enamored with her. The two went on multiple adventures together, including an outing to a small village festival. It was the first time that Shingen's adolescent heart had ever known something close to love. Eventually, during the mission, Kyousuke was assailed by a mysterious shinobi in a fox mask, and badly injured. The chuunin went to hunt down this assailant to avenge his sensei, but was greatly outclassed. This led to him tapping into Matatabi's power, and he nearly unwittingly released the bijuu. He was eventually subdued by Rei, who returned him to the Konoha base to recuperate. Once he was healed, he was sent back to Sunagakure.
Shingen was given a bit more freedom at this stage, likely as a result of Kyousuke wanting to right his wrongs of not informing Shingen of the nature of his bijuu, which had nearly resulted in a catastrophic meltdown. Shingen was allowed to be somewhat more normal, and was given additional education about Matatabi, and additional training for how to control the beast, though he was still kept partially in the dark. He was occasionally afforded his privacy, though he still felt isolated from people around his age-group. Despite not knowing that he was a jinchuuriki, people were wary of him, or feared him, because he was constantly under surveillance by village ANBU. The only people that knew of Shingen's position were his family, the Kage, and the select few tasked with his training and supervision.
Shingen's main social interactions outside of his own family involved Kyousuke and Satoru's families, though he kept cordial relations with his fellow jounin. He is even known to play spin-the-bottle with Satetsu Sahara from time to time.
With an abundance of free time on his hands, Shingen filled a lot of his free time with the creative hobby of inventing jutsu, and eventually practicing those jutsu against his sensei, Kyousuke, who became the Kazekage. It is not uncommon for Shingen to spend the day futily challenging Kyousuke for the title of Kazekage, only to always lose. His free time was also spent on his regular speed training. When Shingen's speed finally eclipsed Satoru's, just after the jinchuuriki's sixteenth birthday, he was promoted to the rank of jounin. This came as a shock to many in the village, as Shingen's true speed is often kept hidden by his training weights, making him appear otherwise as if he were an unremarkable chuunin.
The only ones who knew of his true speed are fewer in number than those who know of his position as a jinchuuriki, namely Kyousuke, Satoru, and anyone who had seen them spar and train. This included Satetsu Ayane, a Suna genin with whom Shingen sparred at the Steeped Cliffs. Unbeknownst to both of them, the pair represented both of the village's bijuu. Ayane's own bijuu fueled her bloodlust in the battle, and she was pushed to the point where she utilized exploding tags in their spar. This forced Shingen to release his weights, revealing his true speed to the girl in the process of surviving the explosions. The jounin ended up chastising the girl for her recklessness, to which she showed remorse, and the two parted on amicable terms.
Shortly after he became a jounin, Shingen was entrusted with a group of two genin to train. Coincidentally, he had met these two genin before, and was convinced by the kazekage of the importance of their training.
However, the two students were not on amicable terms. Shingen eventually sought out Ty Lee, in an attempt to understand her better. The two had a lengthy debate about life, death, morality, and gods. Shingen eventually reluctantly converted to Jashinism in return for Ty Lee's promise to attempt to learn to live and love life.
Eventually, Shingen took Ty Lee outside of the village, in an effort to repay her honesty with his own honesty. He revealed his jinchuuriki nature to her, and the two had another debate about life, death, and morality. Shingen eventually promised to become immortal for Ty Lee's sake, so that she never had to fear being alone as an immortal.

Ijutsu Specs in the medical field are master battle-surgeons, able to keep calm under the most stressful of situations and save people from the most dire of straits. Specialists learn medical techniques at half word count and use only a 1/4th of the normal chakra on them. Access to anatomical, poison, and diagnostic medicinal knowledge, and they can now craft journeyman-level antidotes.
Ninjutsu specialists gain a major advantage in dexterity and stamina when using ninjutsu. Ninjutsu of their chosen element (Non-elemental) are now treated as one rank more powerful than they would normally be (max S). They use 50% less hand seals on all jutsu (can be reduced to 0 seals). All ninjutsu used count as one less rank for the purposes of spending chakra. They may select 1 technique they know and permanently reduce the amount of hand seals required to 1 (does not stack with the 50% modifier).
Taijutsu Minors understand what it means to be a martial artist. They can learn and use Taijutsu. Minors are trained in the body's weak points and how to best strike them. They can create up to A-Rank customs in Taijutsu.
A Buddhist can understand, learn, and use monk stances. They can create up to A-Rank custom stances.

SAs and Flaws:
- King of the Training Weights: Shingen uses a pair of special ankle training weights. They weigh around fifty pounds each, designed to heavily restrict the speed of someone with Average Strength. While wearing his training weights, Shingen's Agility is reduced by a number of tiers equal to his Agility minus his Strength. This debuff is always applied last, after any other stat-changing effects.
- Weighed Down: Shingen receives 10% less income from all sources.
