Post subject:  Terumi Clan (Fuuton/Boil Release)

Pretty much copied and pasted straight from the archives, so none of this is my work. If anything at all needs changed or if it need completely reworked let's do it. I'm just looking for some guidelines for Fuuton since a character of mine will have it.

Bloodline Name: Fuuton/Boil Release
Clan Name: Terumi
Leader: NPC Terumi
Village: Kirigakure

Clan Description: A powerful clan hailing from Hidden Mist. The Terumi Clan has the unique ability to manipulate the pH of any given fluid, primarily water. Their signature ability--Skilled Mist--is startlingly simple, but it carries and horrifically potent power. Simply through exhaling, the Clansmen can release an extremely powerful acidic mist from their lips. They are commonly assigned roles of assassins, cleaners, and water analysts.

The Terumi share a common ancestor; they have occasionally married into the Chikaku Taika bloodline, producing children that can utilize both of their nature affinities. It is a tradition that has transcended country and political affiliation. For whatever reason, the combination of the two corrosive elements (Lava and Boil) can be shared by the same person. This occurs twice a generation.
The clan is simple, and modest, working off to the side of the village, never trying to get directly involved in the country's affairs. They have remained isolated, and somewhat impoverished. However they can apparently grow amazing crops-- by freely changing the pH of soil, they are very skilled agriculturists. But this lifestyle doesn't get them by anymore, and thus they must use their techniques for the local militia.
Working for ANBU and Jounin units, especially the impoverished clansmen, as cleaners for the city, is their second option. They dispose of bodies through their Boil Release, and are often more effective than the ANBU themselves. As one member recently in Iwa said-- "If the body bags don't work, we always bring buckets". The Terumi, the more wealthy terumi who can afford it, gain jobs as Chuunin or Jounin, working off of missions, storing the cash for larger investments (hopefully).

In the past the Terumi Clan has had one of their family become Mizukage, Mei Terumi, came to master the Lava and Boil Release techniques in all their glory, paving the way for a bloodline rebound in Kirigakure.

Clan Traits/Characteristics: Dark blue and lavender shades, usually in kimono's or shinobi dress.

Clan Personality: [Any common personality traits found in the clan?]

Bloodline Description: The primary technique of the Terumi Clan is "Skilled Mist", through experience, the Terumi clansmen can learn to freely change the pH of their own acid.

Skilled Mist Technique:
Rank: Varies
Range: 0-10m (Close), 0-15m(Mid)
Elements: Boil Release
Description:This mist has corrosive properties, capable of even melting the bones of the Susanoo. The technique has an inherent disadvantage in that its effects are indiscriminate, limiting its usage to areas that do not presently contain allies until the attack is completed. In the event that the mist escapes the containment area, thus putting others in danger, the Fifth Mizukage has suggested that the technique can be sufficiently manipulated to limit its acidic qualities to safer levels.
Though the mist is corrosive to all around it, the user seems to be immune to it. Terumi can freely manipulate the pH of mist they've already summoned so long as they are in contact with it. Going up in pH costs full chakra, however if you wish to decrease the pH of the mist it only costs one less rank than normal. Below is a chart dictating pH levels.

pH Levels:
Level / Rank / Character Points Required

pH5 / D-Rank / Innate(Comes with Bloodline tax) All Terumi are born with this level of pH manipulation. pH5 has virtually no effect on most objects and living things. pH5 is primarily used to reduce the effects of acid mist already in place in order to save allies / valuable objects.

pH4 / D-Rank / Innate(Comes with Bloodline tax) At this level only irritation of the skin and eyes occurs. Prolonged exposure(5+ posts) can cause metals to become brittle and temporary eye damage.

pH3 / C-rank / 200: Chemical burns, eye, nose and throat irritation are common symptoms. Continued exposure(4+ posts) results in loss of sight, taste or smell. Clothing, metals and plastics will corrode slowly at this stage.

pH2 / B-rank / 200: Fur, clothing or reinforced materials will dissolve. Items applied with chakra will begin to burn. Loss of sight and painful burns occur with 3+ posts of exposure. At this level and higher most Ice Techniques are dissolved instantly. (A-rank and under)

Ph1 / A-rank / 300 Plantlife, including chakra-strengthened Wood Release, is dissolved at this stage. Most metals and weaponry will also disintegrate. Susanoo'o will begin to weaken at this stage. Most barriers will begin to weaken, including equal or greater strength Crystal and Steel Release techniques. Crystal and Steel techniques of lesser rank are destroyed with 3 posts of exposure. Loss of sight and life-threatening burns occur within 2+ posts of exposure. Blindness happens at 3+ posts. At this rank, nearly all Ice Techniques dissolve instantly. (S-rank and below due to elemental advantage.)

pH0 / S-Rank / 300 Almost every organic material will melt at this stage. Contact with acid at this stage is lethal, especially if inhaled-- dissolving tissue within moments. Kaguya bone can be dissolved with 2 posts of exposure. Susanoo'o, as well as Crystal and Steel Release techniques of equal rank, are capable of being destroyed with 3 posts of exposure. Crystal and Steel techniques of lesser rank are destroyed with 2 posts of exposure.
(Training costs do not count towards ACP but the bloodline tax/advanced element does)

Bloodline Limits: Limitations: Lightning Release has been found to neutralize the acid entirely, on any level. A lightning technique of a rank below can provide sufficient static charge to disrupt the hydrogen distribution, destroying the Terumi Clansmens ability to produce and control the acid content. Storm Release techniques of a rank below can also neutralize the acidic properties of the gas. Crystal Release as well as Steel Release are resistant against Boil, giving their defense the same strength as Susanoo'o against Boil Release.

Clan Jutsu: [Below list any special Clan jutsu related to your Clan/Bloodline. If you have additional Clan Jutsu you wish to be added put them through the Jutsu Registration forums and then PM an Admin/BoD to add them to the clan for you.]

Name: Boil Release: Let it Burn
Rank: B-rank
Range: 0-5m
Type: Ninjutsu / Kinjutsu
Sub-type: Offensive/Defensive)
Elemental Affinity: Fuuton/Boil Release
Notation: Bloodline
Handsigns: Horse, Dog, Boar, Dragon, Snake, Dragon
Description: A forbidden Terumi technique, obtainable only after achieving pH 0. The "Let it Burn" technique allows the clansmen to freely alter the pH of their blood and bodily fluids. After forming the required handseals the blood can be freely changed to any of the pH's listed above, and is kept under a sort of fluid pressure. When the user is cut, the blood will burst out, immediately spraying the enemy with acid. This has the unfortunate effect of increasing blood loss significantly (especially if hit at an artery; the person will---erm, explode), and preventing coagulation from occurring, at least until the pH can be brought down by another clansmen.
Drawbacks: I believe the description mentions that you can explode from using this technique if cut on an artery. I didn't make any of this but that sounds good to me.

Number of Members Allowed: [How many people can join the clan? Staff will likely set this number for you]
Initial Members: [Any initial member?]

The original right up is pretty solid. Just a few things you and I can do to make this nice and easy:

1) I appreciate the CP training system. I do. I'll probably scale it like this though:

PH5 + PH4 - 0 (Comes with Bloodline Tax); PH3 + PH2 - 400 CP; PH 1 + PH0 - 600 CP.

Total Training Cost: 1000 CP. Does not count toward ACP. But the advanced element does.

2) Gotta list some more elemental weaknesses. The base Lightning weakness is fine but let's elaborate on other elements that might disrupt this acidic gas. Storm being an enhanced lightning probably gets to this. Steel Release is probably resistant to this since while metals can dissolve from acids it takes significantly longer to do so.

3) Boil Release is probably strong against Wind because you control the environment in a contained area. This means Boil Release should beat Ice Release since instead of freezing the air it makes it into a dissolvable mist. Acid techniques can dissolve and break down Ice techniques like butter.

Since Naisu isn't doing mod work anymore, I'll trust that you made the changes he asked for. Keep in mind that anything you (or I, or he) missed might still bring this up for review again, but for the foreseeable future: Approved
