The messenger hawk was now well on its way, en route to Otogakure no Sato with a message from Shikyo to be delivered directly to the Otokage. It was a simple update of their progress on the mission and the detour that it was about to take, given new information that had come to light with the interrogation of Deputy Chao.
The Uchiha came upon a bloody scene at the gates, but not one that he hadn't expected. The corpses of the many guards he'd killed here not half an hour prior littered the ground, some merely cut up and others a pile of broken remains that had fallen post mortem from the heights of the great village walls, when Shikyo had felt discontent with letting even them survive on his way to wreak havoc within Iwa.
Nami stood next to the exposed and punctured head of an unfortunate Konoha Chuunin. The Executioner's Blade had swallowed up the blood, as Shikyo knew it would, leaving a cleaner scene than one might expect, but there was still the matter of a body to take care of. Shikyo approached the scene, silent, until he was viewing the woman from above. Had things just gone a little bit differently, this outcome may not have happened. Had she not been here. Had she not killed their target, Kaneda. Had Kaneda not been here. Had their mission ended right then and there, like it was supposed to. Had Shikyo the time and the means to transport her to Konoha. He was not one to dwell on the past, nor to feel remorse for lives lost, but he was, like Nami, born in Konoha and, unlike Nami, still felt some ties to that place, especially with their current alliance with Otogakure. This entire situation was a messy one, but the best he could do was to dispose of the body in at least a mildly respectful manner and inform the Otokage of this in person, once he returns to the village.
With a few, slower than normal hand seals, Shikyo breathed a stream of flame that almost appeared gentle as it imparted its great heat upon Tsuyo, burning the woman from the head down and working very quickly to turn her body to ash within her makeshift stone prison. A few seconds later, and the only markings of her presence were the ashes at the bottom of a small pit that most would hardly notice. Her items and money, anything she had on her person, was either burned or, if sealed away, turned to ash alongside her. The Jounin felt no need to wrest her possessions from her.
"The intel I extracted from Deputy Chao indicates a Committee in the Land of Iron that is behind the events here. They also have a branch out in Kirigakure that might be worth checking out." Shikyo began the briefing, staring blankly into the blackened hole. "There's a mission posted by the smith Seisaku Mishima, of the Hidden Mist, to hunt down some sort of dragon in the Land of Iron. It's an open invitation to all villages, so that will be a good cover for us to scout out the Committee and its Kiri branch." He looked up and took a few steps closer to Nami. "I have a small lead on Sasuke Toriyama that may pan out to something. In the mean time, go to Kirigakure and find what you can. I'll meet you at the smith's shop in six days." He finished, giving both himself and Nami a little extra time to complete each of their investigative work on top of the sizable time that would be spent traveling all the way to the Land of Water.
Without offering any warning, Shikyo's eyes sought to meet with Nami's, his Sharingan spinning about and reflecting in her eyes as he cast a very basic level of Genjutsu over her. With that glance, maybe a minute of silent eye contact, he'd transmit most of the information he had extracted from Tsuyo, in particular the various techniques that she had known, because he knew they would be of great use to Nami in the future.
